😩 Problem

A lead designer approached me with the thought that as popular as Facebook is among millennials and Generation X, many users share the pain points of not only wasting too much time on Facebook, but also consuming content that distracts them from the type of content and activity they’re looking for on Facebook

😎 Solution

hash’s value proposition is to enable Facebook users to make their News Feed experience less overwhelming by prioritizing and organizing the content they consume.

πŸ€“ My Role

I was responsible for the entire design process and content strategy, including the microcopy.
The target audience was defined as Facebook users (primarily millennials and generation X) who find that they spend too much time on Facebook.

🀝 Conclusion

There were a few key takeaways that rolled out as the UX design and writing processes came to a close:
  • It's better to approach the user stories with multiple user flows with easier steps rather than one complicated, big user flow.
  • Do not β€˜finish’ prototype until every user says the flows are easy to complete, and the actionable text is as clear as possible.
  • Navigation windows and dialogue boxes should be as simple as possible, content-focused, and built around the microcopy and its messaging.
