Problem
A product manager hired me to create the microcopy for the company's newly created Elementor Experts platform. My first project creating content for the web designer & developer community, the writing process required through UX and competitor research (Toptal, Fiverr, and upwork, to name a few) in the web design marketplace space.
Solution
This product launch introduced Elementor users (both existing and new) to a platform where they can find the most relevant professionals to hire for web creation projects, or to get hired for gigs themselves.
Once I derived the necessary knowledge for the most befitting text for every user flow on the platform, I dug in to the
Product Designer's wireframes and found the words that fit and looked best.

👩🏫 Lessons Learned
There were a few key takeaways that rolled out as the UX writing process came to a close:
- Always keep localization in mind. Elementor Experts is a platform available to web creators all around the globe. The platform operates in English, but many non-native speakers use it everyday. The English can't be too complicated, but it also needs to maintain a brand voice of professionalism and language proficiency. This is a tough balance!
- Scrutinize the microcopy of your competitors. See what type of conversation they're having with the audience you're competing for, and strive to devise your own language that's equally if not more personable and appealing.
